The Art of War: How Narcissistic Sociopaths Use Tactics to Control and Manipulate

Narcissistic sociopaths are known for their cunning tactics to control and manipulate those around them. They often use the strategies outlined in the ancient Chinese military treatise, “The Art of War,” to achieve their goals.

One of the most common tactics used by narcissistic sociopaths is “divide and conquer.” They create chaos and conflict among their victims to weaken them and make them easier to control. They also use “know thy enemy” to gain insight into their victim’s vulnerabilities and weaknesses, which they can then exploit.

Another tactic used by narcissistic sociopaths is “the element of surprise.” They often catch their victims off guard with unexpected attacks, leaving them feeling vulnerable and unsure. They also use “the power of deception” to mislead and manipulate their victims, often convincing them that they are the only ones who truly understand and care for them.

Narcissistic sociopaths also employ “the art of deception” by creating false narratives and using lies to further their agendas. They often use “the art of distraction” to divert attention away from their own wrongdoing and onto their victims.

Statistics show that the prevalence of narcissistic personality disorder is on the rise, with up to 6% of the population being affected. Many victims of narcissistic sociopaths suffer from anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

One true story of narcissistic abuse involves Walter F. L., a successful businessman in New York who was targeted by his former partner. She used “the art of war” tactics to isolate him from his friends and family, control his finances, and manipulate him emotionally. Walter suffered from anxiety and depression as a result of the abuse, and almost lost his business and fortune. But he knew something was terribly wrong, though it took him years to come to a full realization. With the help of therapy and support from loved ones, he was able to break free from the narcissistic sociopath’s grasp and save his mental health and business. He secured his finances, wrote new contracts, hired a good lawyer (who luckily wasn’t a NPD themselves), and extricated himself. It took much time, and much grief. It was a fight. Narcissistic sociopaths don’t leave easily.

Most are not so lucky to escape, because most do not know narcissistic sociopaths even exist.

It is important to recognize the signs of narcissistic abuse and seek help if you or someone you know is a victim. By understanding the tactics used by narcissistic sociopaths, victims can take steps to protect themselves and regain control of their lives. The art of war may be a useful strategy in warfare, but it has no place in healthy relationships.
